Another exciting new venture the Dental Society will be embarking on, is the production of DentSoc videos on our new YouTube channel. This channel will be an opportunity for us to share videos from various aspects of university life.
On the channel there will be various different playlists with a specific theme for its videos.
Here's a list of just some of the playlists we will be populating with videos this year:
STAFF PROFILES
Our first set of videos will be the 'Staff Profile' interviews, featuring all of our charming, beloved staff working at Barts and the London Dental Institute. Learn all of their secrets and more on our YouTube channel!
STUDENT IN THE SPOTLIGHT - "BARTANS"
There are so many students, not just dental but also our medical and allied course student peers who are doing some incredible things aside from studying! This playlist's videos will feature some of these interesting characters, where we will be finding out more about the students and all the great things they are getting up to
CAMPUS/CLINIC TOURS
We are fortunate to have access to a variety of different teaching facilities across Central London and at Southend-on-Sea. This playlist will feature fun, guided tours of these facilities, including: The Royal London Dental Institute (Whitechapel), Barkantine Clinic (Canary Wharf), The Gutmann Clinic (Stratford), Southend-on-Sea, The QMUL Campus (Mile End), the Barts and The London Campus (Whitechapel) etc.
This will be filmed in an "MTV-Cribs Style"
CLINICAL SKILLS VIDEOS
We will be filming these with the help of our fantastically charismatic and highly skilled clinical tutors. The aim is to develop a bank of online videos filmed with professional quality that students can watch in their own time to develop their confidence of specific skills. Examples include: How to Wax Up a Tooth, Tips and Tricks for How to Take a Perfect Primary Impression, How to Take place a Facebow and Jaw Registration, How to tie a Floss Tie, Tips and Tricks for Rubber Dam Placement etc etc
"WAGWAN IN WHITECHAPS"
Fun videos, directed by Imaan Karmani, our very talented Videographer to showcase all the best spots in and around Whitechapel. We are proud to be a Central London Dental Institute, just in the East End (E1) where there is such a unique local community, lots of great places to eat/drink and things to do/see!
